Sweet Paws Rescue has found its forever home!

After 15 years of saving animals, we are thrilled to announce the purchase of a 20-acre farm in Boxford, Massachusetts. This beautiful property will become the heart of our rescue, sanctuary, and humane education work, while we continue our foster-based mission.

The purchase marks the completion of Phase 1 of our $4.5 million capital campaign—but there’s more to do. Over the next two phases, we’ll renovate the barn for rescue-ready spaces, create community trails and play yards, and launch humane education programs. With your support, we can transform the farm into a place of healing, learning, and lasting impact for animals and people alike.

Since our inception in 2011, Sweet Paws Rescue has proudly operated as a debt-free organization. As the need to save unwanted, neglected, and victimized animals has grown, it became clear that it was time to create a true “forever home” for our mission. Today, I am thrilled to share that we have taken that step with the purchase of a beautiful 20-acre farm in Boxford, Massachusetts.

This new home will serve as the heart of our rescue and sanctuary work, while we continue operating as a foster-based organization. It will allow us to care for more animals in crisis, expand our humane education programs, and provide the community with a place to connect, learn, and grow. Our phased capital campaign ensures that this project will remain debt-free and sustainable, with a vision that preserves both animal welfare and open space for generations to come.

They depend on us—and we depend on YOU to help bring this vision to life.

Together, We Can Build the Future of Compassion

For 15 years, we have been a beacon of hope for unwanted, neglected, and victimized animals. Our reach and scope of service have grown, but our aging facilities have struggled to keep pace.

It’s time for change.

As we continue to serve a growing population of animals in need, we recognized the need to secure a "forever home" that would allow us to expand and improve our mission. That’s why, after years of hard work and dedication, we are thrilled to announce the purchase of a 20-acre farm in Boxford, Massachusetts. We now have the opportunity to build a sanctuary that will not only serve the animals we rescue today but ensure we can meet the needs of those in the future.

However, we continue to need your support.

With your support, we will transform this 20-acre farm into a safe haven. This expanded facility will allow us to:

  • Rescue more animals, providing them with a place to heal, thrive, and find their forever homes.

  • Offer supplementary veterinary care and training services.

  • Create youth education programs to teach the next generation about compassion and responsibility.

  • Partner with local animal control officers to ensure the safety of all animals in our community.

  • Provide much-needed off-leash space for rescued animals and members of the surrounding communities.

This is our vision — one where Sweet Paws Rescue becomes a true sanctuary.

We ask you to dream with us. Together, we can bring this vision to life. We need your support, your partnership, and your generosity to make this sanctuary a reality.

They depend on us and we depend on YOU!

Dream. Act. Give.

  • We have completed phase one of our capital campaign, “A Forever Home for Sweet Paws Rescue,” by purchasing a 20-acre farm in Boxford, MA. The plans for this property include a brand new rescue facility, a humane education center, supplemental vetting facilities, and off-leash walking trails for the surrounding communities.

  • We have outgrown our current rented facility in Groveland. We have expanded, and our current facilities have struggled to keep pace. As we continue to meet the demands of a growing population of unwanted, neglected, and victimized animals, we recognized it was time to adjust our “forever home” to meet our mission. The farm will provide us with the facilities and physical space to serve the many animals we rescue, and the resources to perform supplemental in-house veterinary care. Additionally, “Sweet Paws Rescue at the Farm” will offer education programs, assist local animal control officers, and provide off-leash space for our animals and members of our surrounding communities.

This initiative will allow Sweet Paws Rescue to establish a legacy to ensure that our rescue and humane education efforts continue through future generations.

  • A 20-acre farm property located in Boxford, MA, previously known as Spring Tide Farm, a beloved landmark in the New England horse community.

  • Sweet Paws Rescue purchased the property in late Summer 2025, and is currently engaged in the renovation process. The farm’s existing barn infrastructure and miles of trails offer a layout that not only accelerates Sweet Paws Rescue’s timeline but also strengthens its long-term vision.

  • By working alongside volunteers, experienced campaign strategists, peer partnerships, and through generous donor gifts and pledges, we believe we will reach our fundraising goals, while remaining a debt-free organization.

  • Our total projected costs are approximately $4.5 million.

  • Since 2017 Sweet Paws Rescue has rescued more than dogs. We love cats! Phase 2 includes outfitting “Casa de Cats,” a dedicated, safe living space for cats awaiting adoption, providing them with the comfort and security they need as they wait for their new homes.
